About Ya'soub Editions
Ya'soub is an independent publishing house founded in 2022 in Paris, specializing in arabic children's literature and seeking to highlight emerging and/or established talents among young authors and illustrators from all backgrounds.
While remaining aligned with our values, we defend inclusion, cultural and linguistic diversity by editing, publishing and translating our works in arabic , French and English. Our books convey essential values such as tolerance, mutual respect and respect for the environment.
Designed for readers from early childhood to adolescence, our catalog offers a diversity of genres (picture books, fairy tales, novels, comics, learning books, etc.) and addresses playful, light-hearted, serious, and sensitive themes.
Philosophy of Ya'soub
In the arabic lexicon, “Ya'soub” designates the queen bee. But today, drones are also called Ya'soub (Ya'assib in plural), perhaps because of the similarity in size between them and the queen.
This name is also associated with the dragonfly.
The bee, true to its selective nature, only feeds on what is healthy and pure, and only puts on what is healthy and beneficial. Likewise, our editorial approach is based on the quest for quality and positivity in topics we raise and the way we deal with to deliver valuable products.
As for the dragonfly, it's a perfect illustration of the idea of perpetual evolution. Through its fifteen stages of metamorphosis over the course of its life, its five thousand varied species worldwide symbolize harmony in diversity and continuous evolution.
It is this spirit of varied and harmonious fulfillment that we wish to instill in our publishing house, by spreading fundamental human values as well as beneficial and innovative ideas.
